Animation and Visual Effects is a dynamic and expressive field that’s more wide-ranging and relevant than ever. It ranges from filmmaking and games to virtual, augmented, and mixed reality and emerging forms of interactive art.
You’ll explore the cutting edge of screen-based art and entertainment here in Wellington, the award-winning film and VFX capital of New Zealand. With our strong links to the industry, you’ll have the opportunity to study with experts in their field and masters of their craft.
Storyboarding, concept art, hand-drawn animation, stop motion, 3D modelling, and motion capture—our courses cover a range of animation styles and mediums, from traditional 2D and 3D filmmaking to mixed media and interactive work.
Hands-on practice with the latest software and cutting-edge technologies will hone your technical craft, while critical engagement with a broad spectrum of animated media will develop your creative voice.
You’ll work closely with our staff of award-winning senior creatives with more than 50 years of combined experience in the film, television, motion design, and game industries. They bring experience from internationally renowned studios such as Disney, DreamWorks, Sony Pictures Animation, Buck Design, ShadowMachine, and Weta Workshop.
The Animation and VFX course gives you a great opportunity to learn from and interact with industry experts who are absolutely serious about teaching you.
