The pathway to becoming a registered psychologist

The Whakahāngai Mātai Hinengaro Hauora—Postgraduate Diploma of Health Psychology Practice prepares you to become a registered psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board.

This can be achieved by attaining a B+ grade average in the Master of Health Psychology, followed by gaining entry and successfully completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology Practice.

Studying for the Diploma

Places in the Postgraduate Diploma in Whakahāngai Mātai Hinengaro Hauora—Postgraduate Diploma of Health Psychology are very limited. The course runs for a calendar year (January to December) and includes a supervised internship where you’ll be working with clients.
