Requirements for international students who studied in

To be accepted into this programme you will need:

A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Linguistics or in Language Sciences (with a specialisation in Linguistics) with a B-grade average or better
To be accepted by the programme director as capable of proceeding with the proposed course of study.

If you have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related subject, as determined by the Programme Director, there is an alternative entry path to the MLing programme. You first need to get a B+ or higher grade in LALS 401, which runs in Trimester 3. The points from LALS 401 will then count towards the 180 points of the MLing.
If you’re not eligible for the LALS 401 pathway, you can complete the two-trimester GDipArts in Linguistics as another pathway into the MLing programme.

Complete an approved programme of study comprising 180 points:
- For the coursework component, include 120 points from:
  - At least two of the following:
  - Optionally up to 30 points from approved courses in related subjects. See "Important information" below.
- For the research component, include 60 points from:
