Requirements for international students who studied in

To be accepted into this programme you will need:

A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) with at least a B average in Language Sciences, Linguistics, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), English Language, Education, or a language other than English. Consideration may be given if you have relevant professional experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
To be accepted by the programme director as capable of proceeding with the proposed course of study.

LALS 560 will not be required if you have completed at least two years of professional experience in language education or a related field.
You can use the Postgraduate TESOL and Applied Linguistics Course Planner to help you choose your courses.
To be accepted into our research courses (LALS 580–584), you must have already completed one or both of the research methods courses (LALS 540 and LALS 541) and have received a grade average of B+ or above in those or other 500-level courses.
If you meet these criteria, you should approach a potential supervisor or contact the acting programme director, Corinne Seals.

With the approval of the Head of School, you may be able to replace courses from those listed above with other 500-level courses.
