Collective employment agreements database
CLEW's collective employment agreements database contains the most comprehensive set of data on employment conditions in New Zealand.
Since 1992, the Centre has collected employment agreements from New Zealand employers and trade unions.
As agreements have expired, the Centre has contacted the supplying parties and requested a copy of the renegotiated agreement.
In this manner we have established a longitudinal data series from which we can monitor changes in the outcomes of collective bargaining.
CLEW also conducts an annual survey of registered trade unions to monitor trends in union membership in New Zealand. The data provide information that spans from 1991 to now.
We are able to provide information for researchers and practitioners on:
- collectively agreed employment conditions and/or wage trends, both current and historical, for particular sectors and/or industries,
- specific agreements (only available with the consent of the parties to the agreement), and
- union membership trends.
