Naisi Chen
Biography
Naisi arrived in New Zealand when she was five. Coming from Beijing, China, she has experienced the best of both worlds.With her skills, she is passionate to be a bridge between the wider New Zealand population and the immigrant, youth and student communities. Currently in her final year of a LLB degree, she has had extensive involvement in student politics. Her major roles include President of the New Zealand Chinese Students Association, Vice- President of the Auckland Chinese Students and Scholars Association and Advisory Board of the New Zealand China Council. She successfully organised the public meeting to raise awareness of violence towards international students and saw changes to the Albert Park lighting, international students well-being strategy and various other government agency policies.She was the Labour Party candidate for East Coast Bays during the 2017 general elections and is currently working in the District Courts of Auckland as a court appointed interpreter.
