“Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition
Showcase your Chinese language skill at the annual Wellington regional competition.
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your Chinese language skills and hidden talents and be in to win a scholarship to study in China. We welcome participants at any level to have a go. Jia You 加油!
Each year we call for entries for the Wellington regional competitions for:
- Schools
Junior (Years 7-10 or 14 years and below)
Senior (Years 11-13 or aged 15 years and above with date of birth no later than 1 August 2010)
- Tertiary (18-30 years)
For school students
Register by 3 May, 2024. A competition will be held in Wellington on 18 May, 2024. The winner of the Senior competition will represent the region (along with representatives from Auckland and South Island) at the global competition.
Call for Entries: Junior and Senior Schools
For tertiary students
Register by 3 May, 2024. A competition will be held in Wellington on 18 May, 2024. The top regional contestant may advance directly to the international competition.

About Chinese Bridge: The “Chinese Bridge” speech competition is the most famous international Chinese language competition for non-native speakers, having become a popular reality entertainment show on Chinese TV. It has been organised annually since 2008.
