CDSAI’s inaugural Advisory Board meeting
Te Whiri Kawe—Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CDSAI), recently held its inaugural Advisory Board meeting.
This gathering brought together industry representatives, professional groups, Māori, and external academic leaders to exchange insights and shape future initiatives in data science and AI at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
The Advisory Board aids the CDSAI in improving the quality and relevance of its activities, fostering active collaboration, and driving advancements that will shape the future of technology, and its applications across various sectors, like health and agriculture.
During the inaugural meeting, the Advisory Board highlighted a few key areas that will be of particular focus moving forward. These include:
- Two-way communication between CDSAI members and the Board will remain vital in ensuring research positively contributes to CDSAI’s current work and reputation, as well as the development of Aotearoa New Zealand‘s economy, environment, and society.
- The Board’s valuable insight and guidance will aid the CDSAI when considering the prioritisation of relationships, research contracts, or other decisions.
- The Board shall continue to work with Māori to determine the best ways to utilise data science and AI technology in a manner that supports and enhances Māori communities.
- With the expertise and guidance of the Advisory Board, the CDSAI aims to further enhance their reputation as a national and international leader in data science and AI.
The inaugural meeting was successful, with great discussions throughout. We look forward to the next one.
