Strategy challenge – Team Srikars Angels

by Team G (Margaret, Isha, Srikar, Faith, Martina)

The strategy challenge required us to be a little adventurous with our meal, as we couldn't read anything on the menu.

We zoomed to Taijin on the Metro system -- within a matter of minutes we covered 8 km. The scale of urbanisation is breathtaking and the need for such an efficient metro system becomes apparent.

We were suprisingly intuitive about picking strategic frameworks to analyse business context in the servicescape.

The team challenge made it apparent people could collaborate well in spite of differing perspectives and values in life.

The consistent presence of bilingual signage is a signal that China is opening its doors for international travellers, and with it will come trade and long term migration.

This is one aspect which could be brought back to New Zealand as a country that has tourism as one major source of revenue.

We identified gaps in market for the implementation of New Zealand sustainability and environmental practices, as well as the ability for our brands to be better represented for the emerging consumerism in New Zealand (e.g. top merino brands, ice cream, pounamu, etc.).

Our finding was the increased need to collaborate with and accomodate those people who come to our shores as effectively as China is welcoming those who come to theirs.
