The Graduate Certificate in Restorative Justice Practice is not being offered in 2025 or 2026.

Theory and practice

Get the knowledge and skills you need to improve your professional practice. You’ll cover the complexities of restorative justice theory and key challenges in applying it in a range of roles and sectors.

Recognised by a range of training and accreditation bodies, the Certificate is the only qualification in New Zealand that covers restorative justice practice across the criminal justice, education, health, social welfare and human resources sectors.

Based in the School of Government, you’ll learn in an interactive and multi-disciplinary environment, studying with award-winning lecturers who are active researchers and practitioners in the field.

You can also set yourself up for postgraduate study in related fields.

Study while you work

The Certificate is set up so you can study part time while you work. There’s an online platform for distance students and you can get entry to the Certificate based on your professional training and experience.

Scholarships

You can look for scholarships based on your level of study, subject area and background.

If your courses include seminars, workshops or conferences you'll be able to get financial assistance to attend.
