Evaluation of low-intensity therapy
This study looked at the impact of home based one-on-one therapy sessions on young autistic children.
Over 12 weeks, four autistic children aged between 2 years old and 5 years old were given one-hour home-based therapy sessions, at the rate of three times a week.
Main findings
- All four children showed improvements in engagement, imitation, and communication during the 12 weeks of therapy.
- All four children also showed some improvements in these outcomes with their mothers.
