The history of applied architectural paint colours and decorative schemes on the exteriors of New Zealand buildings 1840-1925

The primary research aim is to undertake documentary research that will inform architects, tradespeople, paint manufacturers and building owners on authentic paint colours and colour schemes to the exteriors of buildings built between 1840 and 1925.  The conclusions of the research will enable buildings of this period to have these colours reapplied for a positive conservation and heritage outcome.
