BIO
My research focuses on better understanding how and why snow and ice (particularly glaciers) are changing. I do this using field observations, remote sensing data, climate reanalysis data, GCM output, and numerical modeling. My current research interests include:
• Developing and improving glacier mass balance models
• Investigating the human influences on past, present, and future glacier change
• Understanding the climate drivers of glacier change
• Monitoring modern changes in New Zealand glaciers
• Developing methods and workflows to remotely monitor glacier change
My secondary interests are:
• Increasing access to science and glaciology, including as the co-founder of Girls on Ice Aotearoa/New Zealand
• Teaching on subjects including climate science, Earth science, and programming
• Communicating climate science in ways that engage and inform the public.
