Project objectives and description

Project objectives and description: My PhD forms part of the MethaneSAT project, a joint American and Aotearoa-New Zealand initiative to quantify global anthropogenic methane emissions using satellite data with unprecedented precision. My personal research focus is on agricultural emissions of methane; the work involves the use of existing atmospheric models and the development of different modelling tools to estimate diffuse agricultural sources, as well as the use and analysis of fluxes observed by both MethaneSAT and MethaneAIR, a jet aircraft equipped with the same state-of-the-art measurement technology.
