Te whakahaere, te whakaruruhau, me te arotake | Implementation, governance and review
Find out about the Working Group, who will have a leading role in the implementation of the framework, and our schedule for regular updates and reviews.
Ki te rā was endorsed by Te Hiwa on 12 March 2024 and the Council on 6 May 2024.
A Ki te rā—Student Wellbeing Outcomes Framework Working Group will have a leading role in the implementation of Ki te rā.
The Working Group will:
- be comprised of student leaders (2-3), professional (2-3) and academic staff (2-3) with wellbeing expertise
- be guided by a ‘terms of reference’ and will firstly establish the phased delivery of the action plan
- will provide regular updates to staff and students on the implementation of the framework.
The implementation of Ki te rā is supported by communications advice, and a communications plan including web pages to ensure it is easy to access.
Reporting
An annual report on the progress made towards achieving the measures outlined will be prepared by the Working Group, for the Director, Te Pūrengi. They will report to the Audit and Risk Committee, Student Experience Committee, Committee on University Student Pastoral Care, Te Hiwa, and Student Assembly.
The overall responsibility and governance of Ki te rā to ensure deliverables are met rests with the Student Experience Committee and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students).
The main content of Ki te rā, which includes the definition of wellbeing, its principles, and four key outcomes, has been designed to stay relevant until the end of 2030. The action plan, which outlines goals and main actions, is set to run until the end of 2026.
Review
We will:
- review Ki te rā before 2030
- gather feedback from students and staff through meaningful engagement
- make sure to prioritise input from equity groups, diverse students, and those with lived experience of poor wellbeing
- consider advice from professional and academic staff, especially those with expertise in wellbeing.
