Fabian Westermann is a candidate in the 2021 election of one staff member to the University Council.

Candidate statement

Kia ora koutou,
I’m originally from Germany but have been at VUW for 10 years now, as a student, Senior Tutor and now as Professional Research Fellow. I’m standing for the election as a staff representative because I have a strong interest in staff wellbeing and student success. Colleagues know me for being direct and outspoken, taking a direct approach to bring up and solve issues. I make time for conversations with staff and students who need support and have previously contributed to the newly established Teaching Academic Pathway.
I would be proud to serve as your voice on the University Council.
