Using images
Limitations apply when using images within your course materials.
You can make a single copy of an image when you are teaching a lesson and the copy is made in preparation for or use in the lesson. Good practice is to attribute all images used.
Image limitations in student materials
If you want to use a copy of an image in course materials there are the following limitations.
Images sourced from hardcopy /print books and journals
Images from hardcopy (print) books and journals can be included in course material so long as they comply with limits of the Copyright Licensing Limited New Zealand (CLNZ) licence and are entered in Talis.
You can also make one copy for use in preparing and teaching a course. This is covered under Section 44 (1) of the Copyright Act.
Images from the internet
To use images from the internet, see material from the internet. For information on selecting images that can be used freely, see finding open access material.

Material where the publisher has provided the images as a teaching resource
Check any agreement you have, or that exists with the publisher.
