Academic quality assurance
Quality assurance involves a number of processes to ensure that programmes and courses are well designed and meet national and international standards.
It also includes the monitoring and review of programmes to ensure that their goals are being achieved and on-going improvements are being made.
The University also undergoes external academic audit by the Academic Quality Agency.

As part of its commitment to academic quality assurance, the University has established a schedule of academic programme reviews.
Graduating year reviews
All New Zealand universities are required by Universities New Zealand—Te Pōkai Tara to conduct graduating year reviews (GYRs).
